Training

To gain access to Ringhals different areas and work with certain tasks it is mandatory to complete certain courses. See below what applies to you and/or your team.

Who books the training sessions?

Your company supervisor will make reservations on behalf of you. The commissioning manager at Ringhals can also make the reservation. Ringhals covers the cost of certain courses required for working here. For more information please consult the commissioning manager at Ringhals.

New regulation in radiation protection

Since 1 June 2018, Sweden has a new Radiation Protection Act (SFS 2018: 396), a new Radiation Protection Ordinance (SFS 2018: 506) and a new comprehensive regulation on basic rules for licensable practices with ionizing radiation (SSMFS 2018: 1).

Most previous regulations have been deleted and replaced by new in the field of radiation protection. The new requirements will be implemented gradually in Ringhals operations in 2018/2019.

Due to the the new regulation in radiation protection, we have compiled the following training material. Ask your instructor if you have any questions about the content.

Admission requirements

Demand for skills and competence for your assignment is specified in the procurement. Examples are:

  • CPR and First aid
  • Hot work
  • High voltage
  • Forklift license
  • Working at height (mast and pole)
  • Scaffolding
  • Asbestos demolition
  • Lift training

Certificate for externally performed training should be sent by e-mail to Ringhals for registration.

Access training

This part describes the training courses which are related to the different physical areas at Ringhals.

Safe site

Target group: Everyone who needs access to Ringhals 1 and 2.
Implementation: Web training performed prior to arriving at Ringhals. Print your certificate and leave it at the Access service desk at Ringhals.

Protection and safety training

Target group: All personnel with access to a nuclear facility.

Radiation protection in practice

Target group: Personnel with access to controlled areas.
Implementation: Basic education is a one day instructor-led classroom session at Videbergsborg V2, Ringhals.

The re-training is in two parts, theory and practical exercises.

Theory: Online course to completed prior to practical exercises. Print out and bring your certificate to the practical exercise.

Ringhals conducts introduction training for its own new employees. This can also be offered to agency or staff, depending on which company you work for.

Training in Safety Protection

Security Protection

Target group: All own employed staff. External personnel with physical and /or logical access. External personnel participating in security-sensitive operations or gain access to confidential information. Management at external companies (in which case it is not physical and logical access).
Implementation: Web based training. Completion of course is a requirement to be authorized to participate in security-sensitive activities or access information classified as: secret. The course must be completed within one month after access.

Target group: All own employed staff. External personnel with physical access.
Implementation: Web based training. The course must be completed within one month after access.

Target group: All own employed staff. External personnel with physical access.

Training for the task

The list below describes some of the training sessions Ringhals requires you to take, depending on what kind of work you do. Your management or outsourcer decides which courses are relevant to you.

Work in room including operable equipment

Target group: Personnel that can affect safety at work in room including operable equipment.
Personnel with access to room including operable equipment (rooms containing system/components of importance for the safe operation of the facilities) should be aware that they can affect the safety when visiting/working in these rooms.
Implementation: Web based training performed prior to arriving at Ringhals. Print your certificate and leave it at the Access service desk at Ringhals.

Fire protection training

Target group: Personnel performing tasks including maintenance or alterations to buildings, systems or components as well as other practical work that may affect fire safety.
Implementation: Web based training performed prior to arriving at Ringhals. Print your certificate and leave it at the Access service desk at Ringhals.

Clean systems

Target group: All personnel with access to restricted areas or other areas where your work can affect the cleanliness of Ringhals systems, such as the PWR turbine and workshops.

This course is also required for positions such as supervisor, assembly manager and engineers.

Radiation protection course

The re-training is a web based education.

Target group: Contractors with tasks at restricted areas, working as supervisors or managers within electricity.
Implementation: Basic education is an instructor-led classroom session for 2 days at Videbergsborg V2, Ringhals.
Revision requirements: After 3 years


Error preventing methods

Target group: Everyone who performs tasks inside the plant. This includes own and hired personnel within operations, maintenance, chemistry, fuel, assembly, checking and testing, plus managers and supervisors who participate in prejob briefing etc.
Implementation: Web based training performed prior to arrival at Ringhals. Print out your certificate and leave it at the Access service desk at Ringhals.

Chemical products targeted training

Target group: All personnel managing and handling chemical products.
Implementation: Instructor-led classroom session 3,5 hours.

Dangerous goods

Target group: Personnel with all types of duties involving handling of dangerous goods.

Code of Conduct

Target group: Temporary personnel working at Ringhals for more than 2 consecutive months and/or at least 6 months within the same calendar year are required to complete the online training.

Re-training

Certain trainings must be repeated after 3 or 5 years due to revision requirements.
